Before You Start
💡Verify that the Emma Smart Tracker you intend to swap batteries on has a white sticker with the Surfact "S" on the side of the tracker. The sticker indicates that battery swap is possible on this device. Units without the sticker cannot swap batteries without special tooling.
What You'll Need
3 new AA batteries
(non-rechargeable lithium batteries are recommended for optimal performance in cold-chain environments)
Step 1: Open the Tracker
Unscrew the lid with the bottom facing upward towards you. This prevents the microchip from falling out when you open the device.
Step 2: Remove Old Batteries
Pull out the old batteries and dispose of them safely, for appropriate recycling later.
Step 3: Insert New Batteries
Insert the new AA batteries, ensuring that the positive side matches the + sign on inside the Emma Smart Tracker.
💡 Tip: We recommend using non-rechargeable lithium batteries for optimal performance and longer battery life in cold-chain environments.
Step 4: Test the Device
Turn the tracker around and verify that the LED flashes a sequence of lights. This confirms your tracker is operating normally.
Step 5: Close the Tracker
Fasten the lid again by screwing it back on securely.
