How to Start and Stop Routes with QR in Surfact Signal

Start a monitored route from Surfact Signal with the QR icon: add a description, set temperature limits and choose how the route ends.

A route follows one shipment from start to finish. While it runs, Signal checks the temperature against the route's limits. When it ends, a route report is created automatically.

Start a route

  1. Find the device in the device list on the Map or Panel view. Devices that can run routes have a QR icon next to their name.

  2. Click the QR icon. The Surfact route form opens in a window. Click Open in new tab if you prefer a full browser tab.

  3. Enter a description or ID, for example the order number or destination.

  4. Set the temperature zone or limits the shipment must stay within.

  5. Choose how the route ends: a stop location (it ends when the device arrives) or a timeout.

  6. Click Start.

The device list and map update within a few seconds. The device moves into the ROUTES tile and its chart shows the route limits.

Stop a route

The route ends by itself at the stop location or after the timeout. To stop it early, click the QR icon again and stop the route in the form.

Drivers can use the physical QR code

For trackers mounted in trucks and reefers, drivers can scan the QR code on the device with their phone. See Drivers: Start and Stop Routes by Scanning the QR Code.

After the route

Once the route has ended, its report shows up under Reports. See Route reports: find, preview and download.
