Automated temperature alerts are the fastest way to protect temperature-sensitive cargo: Surfact Signal notifies your team by email the moment a temperature threshold is breached, so you can act before goods are lost. This guide shows you how to create an alert for a device, add recipients, and monitor ongoing temperature excursions.

Create a temperature alert for a device
Open the device menu. Under the device menu you can set alarms for that specific device. (You can also create alerts for a whole group — see the FAQ below.)
Define the temperature thresholds that should trigger your alert — for example above 8 °C or below 2 °C for pharma shipments.
Add email addresses so the right people receive instant notifications when the threshold is breached.
Finalize the alert to activate automated monitoring and save valuable response time.
Monitor ongoing temperature breaches
The Alerts view shows every device with an active temperature excursion alarm, so you can focus on the shipments that need attention right now.
Review all configured alerts
Under the Alert button in the menu you can review all alerts — which events are being monitored, and who is informed when they trigger.
Frequently asked questions
Can I notify more than one person?
Yes — add as many email addresses as you need when configuring the alert. Everyone on the list receives an instant email notification.
Can I set one alert for many devices at once?
Yes. Configure a group-level alert and the conditions apply to every device in the group — see How to Rename Devices & Create Device Groups in Surfact Signal.
What triggers a temperature alert?
An alert triggers when a device reports a temperature outside the thresholds you defined — for example above your maximum or below your minimum temperature.
